The Device Map and Device Group Map pages use Google Maps to display locations, geofences (zones), and more.
Map Icons:
The following icons are the default icons. Icons for device locations can be customized in the Device Setup.
Icon | Description |
Device Location Icon: This icon displays the last location of the device being displayed. Click on the icon to view the details of the location.
Directional Icons: Directional icons will be shown while the device is currently in motion. This arrow icon will point in the direction the device is traveling, and will change with each GPS heading change. Once the device comes to a stop, the icon will change to the Device Location Icon shown above.
Location Point Icon: Location point icons are shown on the map within the path of travel. These are points that happened prior to the most recent location. Click on the icon to view details of the location.
Buffered Location Icon: The buffered location icons are shown on the map within the path of travel. The buffered location icon will be shown when a location point is received from the device later than the originally intended date or time. This is typically the result of poor cellular coverage when the location was acquired. However, other factors may cause buffered locations.
Geofence Icon: The geofence icon is displayed in the center of any geofence created by the user. Click the icon to view the geofence name and description. |
Map Popups:
The following popups are shown on the map when the user clicks a Datablaze Icon (shown above).
Popup | Description |
Geofence Popup: The geofence popup is displayed when the user clicks on the geofence icon on the map. The popup displays the name of the geofence and the description (if the user entered a description).
Device Location Popup: The device location popup is displayed when the user clicks on the Device Location Icon, Directional Icon, Location Point Icon, or the Buffered Location Icon. This popup displays the name of the device, the address of the device, the date and time the location was acquired, the GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude), the speed the device was travelling at the time the location was acquired, and shortcut buttons to other relevant pages for this device. Buttons: The buttons displayed at the bottom of each device location popup provide shortcuts to other relevant pages for this device.
