The following instructions will walk you through activating your new Datablaze device on either the smartphone app (option 1) or the Datablaze Web Portal (option 2).
Option 1: LiveTrack App
|1.||If you have opened the app prior to this step, you may see a screen asking for user credentials on the app. If so, click the back arrow.|
|2.||Click the "Activate Your Device" button at the bottom of the screen.|
|3.||Some requests will appear, one for Notifications, one for using your location (this is so we can offer directions from you to the device you are tracking), and one for camera access (this is so you can scan a barcode to activate).|
|4.||Scan the barcode found either in your Quick Start Guide or the barcode found on the label on your device.|
|5.||If the barcode scanner does not show a popup that states "Device Found!", tap the "Enter Code Manually" button and continue to step 6. If the scanner works and you see the popup, continue to step 8.|
|6.||Enter either the Activation Key or the IMEI found in the Quick Start Guide. If you do not have the Quick Start Guide that came with your device, enter the IMEI found under the barcode on the label on your device.|
|7.||Next, on the confirmation page, enter the last 4 digits of the activation key or IMEI that you just entered on the previous screen.|
|8.||If the scanner is working on your smartphone, the app will show the popup and allow you to change the nickname of your device. Once you have chosen a nickname, click "OK".|
|9.||Next, enter a valid email address*, full name, password, and password confirmation. Toggle the "I agree to the Terms & Conditions" switch (to view the Datablaze Terms & Conditions, click the link). Then, click Next. *If your email address is invalid, you will not receive important notices from Datablaze, including responses to support tickets, device alerts and notifications, account notices, and billing information.|
|10.||Choose the plan that best suits your tracking needs by tapping the plan you would like.|
|11.||Next, you have the option to prepay for 3 months, 6 months, or 1 year. Doing so offers a discount on your service fees. If you would like to be billed monthly, tap the bottom option "No Thanks, just bill me monthly until I cancel".|
|12.||Next, enter your credit card information in the Payment Setup form, then click "Confirm & Start Tracking". You will see a confirmation box asking you to agree to the charges about to be applied to your credit card. Tap "Agree".|
|13.||As long as the charge was successful, the next screen will show the charge receipt, you will also receive an email with these details.|
|14.||Tap "Continue to Device Setup".|
|15.||Follow the remaining screens to get your first location, setup zones (geofences), enable notifications, and view a quick walkthrough of the map screen. You can also skip the setup, which skips zone (geofence) creation, and notifications. To setup zones later, tap the "Device Zones" option in the menu. To setup notifcations, tap "Settings", then tap "Notifications".|
Option 2: Datablaze Activation Website
Open any web browser from a computer, tablet, smartphone, or any other device with internet access. We recommend using Google Chrome for the best experience.
In the address bar of your web browser enter "my.datablaze.com/activate" or Click Here.
Next, enter the Activation Key from your Quick Start Guide (NOTE: Unlike the LiveTrack app, activation through the website requires the activation key, the IMEI will NOT be accepted).
Select either "Create New Account" or "Use Existing Account" and click Next.
|5.||Select the plan that best suits your tracking needs, then select either one of the discounted prepaid options or "No Thanks, bill me monthly".|
Next, check the box to agree to the Datablaze Terms & Conditions. To view the Terms & Conditions click the link.
Then enter your billing information and click Next.
The final step is confirming your selections, click Finish.
Upon successful activation a button will appear allowing you to login to your account.
Click the big blue button, then login and click the name of your device on the device list.
Power on the device and take it outdoors for 5-10 minutes.
You should see a location report from the device on the Device Dashboard.
